ABOUT US

Dreambase Studios is co-owned by it’s directors Mark Kenna and Alex Hudd. They combine their skills along with a worldwide network of trusted and talented individuals and facilities, from directors and producers to camera operators, sound editors and graphic designers to bring your project to life.

Mark Kenna AMPS

Mark started his career with Rolls Royce, specialising in Electronics. He then went on to study Music Technology, Acoustics and Psychoacoustics at the University of York. Mark then joined Dolby Laboratories and as senior sound consultant, provided technical and creative support to the international motion picture industry, helping many ﬁrst-time productions and independent ﬁlm makers through post production, working on over 600 ﬁlms in over 100 ﬁlm studios, cinemas and ﬁlm laboratories worldwide.

Mark has worked with all the major studios including Disney, 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros; he's toured Scandinavia with Baz Lurhmann; provided support at the Cannes Film Festival; completed the ﬁrst Dolby Digital mix in Czech Republic and Egypt; provided consultancy services for new studios in Thailand and Denmark and has completed work for George Lucas, Tim Burton and Ken Loach.

In 2011, Mark directed and produced the charity music video Wootton Bassett Rocks featuring over 1,000 people from Royal Wootton Bassett in a single shot raising money for military charities. He continues to provide international sound consultancy services and is a full member of the Association of Motion Picture Sound (AMPS).

Alex Hudd AMPS

Alex started playing drums at the age of 12 and has enjoyed playing, recording, and learning about music and sound ever since. Following a degree in Electronic Engineering he spent thirteen years as an Engineer and Sound Consultant to the motion picture film industry in Europe and Asia, working on over 200 film productions and using a variety of professional sound equipment.

Alex specialises in providing a variety of sound services, from sound recording and music composition, to sound editing, sound design and mix, both for films and a range of digital media, including corporate productions, experiences and mobile applications. He also actively experiments and blogs about sound and other interests, under the guise of Hudd Sounds.

He’s a full member of the Association of Motion Picture Sound (AMPS) and the Performing Rights Society (PRS), and is songwriter and drummer in the band NewQuay Times. Alex also enjoys a variety of outdoor pursuits, reading, script writing and graphic design.
